ECO-FRIENDLY CAMPSITE IN THE TARN
AN ECO-RESPONSIBLE APPROACH TO THE ENVIRONMENT
OUR ACTIONS TO
RESPECT THE ENVIRONMENT
We place great importance on respecting the environment and preserving biodiversity in the management of our small campsite. Since 2020, we have proudly been recognized as an LPO (League for the Protection of Birds) refuge!
- Zero chemical pesticides used in green areas.
- Creation of no-mow zones and preservation of grassy paths to promote local wildlife and flora.
- Installation of a hedgehog shelter.
- Planting of native shrub species from the Tarn in partnership with the local association “Arbres et Paysages Tarnais”.
- Use of solar lighting throughout the main paths of the campsite.
- Replacement of bulbs with LED lights.
- Solar water heater for the main sanitary block.
- Swimming pool heated with a heat pump to reduce energy consumption and use of a solar cover to retain heat.
- Cleaning of facilities and sanitary blocks with eco-labeled or ISO 14001 products (environmentally friendly).
- Staff transportation within the campsite using bicycles or electric carts.
- Email communication preferred to reduce paper use. No printed brochures.
- Restaurant menu developed with a focus on local products and short supply chains.
WASTE
MANAGEMENT
It’s an ambitious goal, but at our level, we do everything we can to reduce our waste production and manage it in a sustainable way.
- Shredding branches from green space maintenance and using wood chips around plants. Mulching helps limit watering, weed control, and improves the soil.
- Leaf collection in winter, shredding and reusing as compost – a real “brown gold”!
- Grass mulching during mowing to naturally fertilize the soil.
- Selective sorting area available on-site.
- Composting of plant waste.
- Provision of a “bio-bucket” for every guest on arrival to encourage green waste separation.
- Collection of used batteries at reception.
