VISIT THE SIDOBRE
FROM THE CAMPSITE
THE SIDOBRE, BETWEEN GRANITE AND HISTORY,
A WALK FROM OUR CAMPSITE
The Sidobre is a mountainous region in the Tarn, located south of the Massif Central and east of Castres. It is known for its granite presence. Exploring the small roads and trails of the Sidobre lets you discover exceptional granite rock formations. But it’s also a region rich in historical and legendary villages.
THE SIDOBRE AND ITS PICTURESQUE VILLAGES
Brassac, located 1h20 from Cahuzac-sur-Vère and 1h from Albi, is famous for its two-arched bridge, listed as a historic monument, and its castles: Brassac-de-Castelnau and Brassac-de-Belfortès. At the Basketry House, you can see over 300 basketry pieces. Several hiking trails start from Brassac, including the “Wild Child” trail. By car, follow the “Megalithic Route” to see the region’s menhirs.
In Burlats, a village 1h10 from Cahuzac-sur-Vère and 50 minutes from Albi, you can visit the Adelaide Pavilion, a Romanesque-style building. Families can also visit Missègle Farm, where you’ll find alpacas and lambs, as well as a workshop you can tour.
In Vabre, 1h15 from Cahuzac-sur-Vère and 57 minutes from Albi, stop by the belfry and the temple built in 1802.
