TYPICAL SMALL VILLAGE OF OUR REGION,
CAHUZAC SUR VÈRE

Ideally located between Gaillac and Cordes-sur-Ciel, our family-friendly camping in the Tarn welcomes you to a gently rolling landscape bathed in soft light, in the heart of the Gaillac vineyards. Within walking distance from Camping Le Soleil des Bastides, the village of Cahuzac sur Vère has an interesting historical heritage. For the curious: the name Vère comes from “véra,” meaning “arched” in Occitan. Thus, the course of the Vère river forms an arc.

STROLL THROUGH THE VILLAGE,
WALK THROUGH HISTORY

  • The Saint-Thomas Church: the result of 4 chapels built successively.
  • The Lintin Church: now used as an exhibition hall.
  • The Old Gate: a plaque on the bank’s wall indicates where a gate of the Cahuzac castle once stood.
  • 6 minutes from the village, you can discover the village of Vieux with its 17th-century church.
  • The Saint-Vincent Cemetery: the oldest place in the village, located at the end of the ridge called “La Dévèze.”
